This term our topic has been Captain Wet Wellies. He has been sending us letters asking us to find out different things to do with water for him. He sent us one letter asking us how to keep an ice berg from melting. We did an experiment testing different materials and found that tin foil kept the ice cold for longest.
As part of our topic, we also did some paintings of water lilies in the style of Monet. First we looked at some of Monet’s paintings. Next we drew water lilies using coloured pastels, then we painted over them with water paint. We are really pleased with our finished paintings.
We have been working really hard on our times tables this term. This will help improve our mental maths skills and will help our accuracy in maths. We have also been giving and following directions, and working on division.
We decorated our door and dressed up for World Book Day.
We enjoy taking part in PE on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
